*This story is a scene from the sequel of Rebel With A Cause that I never ended up writing.*
Revenge doesn’t always go as planned… He flattened the accelerator against the floor. His body shook, muscles tense, teeth gritted. He twisted his hands around the steering wheel, hands clenched. It had to end tonight. He wouldn’t let him get away with hurting anyone else. The guy was dangerous, and he knew it was up to him to stop him. He’d been tracking this guy for the past two and a half months. Thanks to him, Carter had left his business in disarray, and he was missing out on a part of his son’s life. I’m doing this for them, he reminded himself. I need to keep them safe. The roar of another engine came from his right. Carter knew it was T-Man, his oldest friend. T-Man was just as much invested in this as Carter was. He’d been there since the beginning, and he was responsible for this monster being in their lives in the first place.

Carter’s life turned upside down when he was five years old. While he was out at a soccer game, his parents were lying dead in a crushed car on the side of the road. There was no warning; no chills up the spine, no sense of foreboding. It was sudden, and it left Carter Hawke all alone in the world. He was an orphan, and from then on, he had no one.
Carter struggled with being alone. Gone was the cheerful young soccer star with a cheeky grin on his face. In his place was a silent, brooding teenager, trapped in a child’s body. Carter had been forced to grow up faster than the other children his age. It wasn’t until he was fourteen that things began to change. A new boy arrived at Carter’s foster home. His name was Arthur Harris, and he took a special interest in Carter. Quiz Maker - powered by Riddle |
